Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by the club president, Michael Stackhouse, at

7:05 PM, with 12 members and guests present.

 

Minutes: Michael Stackhouse, presented the minutes from the August 2022 general meeting. The minutes were approved as presented.

 

Financial Report: The financial report was presented by Michael Stackhouse, showing a cash balance of $762.86. The treasurer’s report was approved as presented.

 

Speakers:

 

Rodney Lee, Candidate for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4, stopped by to update us on his campaign. Show your support of Rodney’s campaign by posting photos of yourself and one of Rodney’s signs on your Social Media accounts.


Mimi Coffee, Candidate for Texas House District 99 came by and gave us an update on her campaign and their current voter turnout initiatives.

Early Voting Begins Oct. 24th, 2022 Election Night Events. Election on Nov. 8th

It’s here already. We are in our final days to bring out the voters. 


NWTP Elections 

Election for the club’s executive board will be held at our next meeting on November 16th. Members in good standing, per the clubs election by-laws, are allowed to self nominate themselves at the time of the proceedings.

Minutes: The Secretary, Karen Horgan, presented the minutes from the August 2022 general meeting. The minutes were approved as presented.

Financial Report: The financial report was presented by Frederick Sehapayak, showing a cash balance of $777.65. The treasurer’s report was approved as presented.

Speakers:

Tony Coffey with Mimi Coffey’s campaign reported they need help and volunteers to do lit drops. They have identified 66,000 homes to target.

Rodney Lee, Candidate for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4, reporting on his campaign. Rodney held the job fair for CDL drivers to get licensed on September 17. It was very successful and had eight companies represented.

They will have a booth at the Train and Grain Festival and will be selling turkey legs again.

Rodney will be at the Starbucks on Saginaw Main 6:30-8:00. Stop by and Chat with Rodney.

Mark Bauer from Northeast Tarrant Democrats announced a fundraiser and silent auction with Gloria Campos on Thursday, September 29 at the Lancaster Theater.

Upcoming Events:

Train & Grain – October 15 - NWTP will have a booth. We will be have campaign literature from Democratic candidates and information about NWTP letting people know about our club. We will have a Buried Treasure game/activity to engage people and draw them to our booth. We need volunteers to staff the booth.

Lots of candidate Block Walks, Phone Banks available, so sign up and help get Democrats elected.

Speakers:

Rodney Lee, Candidate for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4, reporting on his campaign. They have been doing lots of block walking, talking to voters. He is planning a tailgating event at a

Willow Creek Park September 18th, at 2:30 pm $20 All you can eat.

Rodney is planning to host a training/job fair for CDL drivers to get licensed on September 17. Location TBD. He is also planning a private fundraiser event, if you are interested in attending, let Michael Stackhouse know.

Karroll Parker, SDEC 9 committeeman, reported that the party platform had been passed. The next state convention will be in El Paso, TX, so please plan to attend.

Karroll also mentioned a Party Telethon on Sept. 5th and The Governor Debate Watch Party on Sept 30th.

We discussed having a hybrid meeting for our monthly meetings. We would meet live and also broadcast the meeting through Zoom, or other platforms, to those who couldn't make it.

Sting Fling* – September 10 – NWTP will have a booth. We will be registering voters and letting people know about our club. We will have some kind of game/activity to engage people and draw them to our booth. We need volunteers to staff the booth.
